To whom it may concern:

            I am submitting the following recommendation in support of friend and colleague Mr. Bobby Grimes.  I have known Bobby for ten years now, initially as a consultant to Hawai’i Preparatory Academy’s Terrace Farm Restoration Project.  I have been teaching science at HPA for 25 years and have been the science department chairman for 8 years. 

In March of 2012, HPA sought assistance in designing and building a functionally sustainable outdoor classroom. Bobby was brought on board to design, fabricate and assemble a bamboo classroom referred to affectionately as “Eco-Boo”. Bobby made it perfectly clear from the beginning that this classroom project should involve full participation by students. His kind enthusiasm and love for teaching drew students into the process with wonderful success. Through Bobby’s dexterous mentorship, students from various cultures and backgrounds were involved in creating a bamboo classroom from beginning to end. The structure completed, to this day, has withstood the test of time and is a cornerstone model for sustainable endeavors at our educational institution.        

Bobby is an outstanding teacher with an infectious eagerness and enthusiasm for teaching his broad-based knowledge to all. He is reliable, offers unconditional help to those in need, and works cooperatively in team situations. His efforts to develop strategies for student learning needs are exceptional.  Through creative activity-based strategies, Bobby provided all students with an exciting, creative, meaningful and fun way of attaining new concepts. His efforts to develop an outdoor classroom learning center have brought HPA valuable public recognition within Hawai’i educational circles.                

As an environmental steward with an infinite joy for teaching and learning, and a person of unquestionable integrity, Bobby has earned my strongest and highest recommendation in any position where motivating students and adults to become life-long learners is concerned.

Bobby is the divine masculine expressing and creating, balanced in love.

  I will always be grateful for the space of acceptance, and at the same time, space of passionate encouragement, that’s what you represented for me in my world Bobby ... masculine, balanced in love, that creates, unlimited potentials and practical wisdom of how to bring them in Loving heart, contemplative mind, appreciation for life and fully embracing what it has to offer, not settling for less.
